Hi lovelies, I have recently gone camping! It was a lot of fun. I thought this DIY was perfect because I was camping and I needed a little backpack to carry my things.
I am so excited to tell you about my first successful up cycling project. In case you didn't know up cycling is when you take something old and transform it. I took my old white jeans and made a cute circle backpack. I used my sewing machine but you can use a hot glue gun too. This project is so simple and I can't wait to share it with you.
-Sewing Machine or Hot Glue Gun
-Zipper foot (For sewing machine)
Find old jeans at a thrift shop or around your house. Then cut up through the inner seam. It should look symmetrical.
Fold the jeans in half again and cut the shape you would like your back pack to be. I chose to make a circle back pack.
Turn the two pieces of fabric inside out. Next grab a zipper and pin it to either sides of the jeans. Then pin the two sides of the fabric together. Remember to keep the zipper unzipped. Sew or hot glue where you pinned.
Cut out the waist part of the jeans. (where the belt is) This will be the strap. If you want two straps cut the waist part in two. Places the two ends on the back where you would like so they can hang over your shoulders. Then pin and sew or hot glue.
DECORATE! This is the fun part. Add vintage buttons sparkle or a cool design. I kept mine plain but I cut out the back pocket of the jeans and used it as a pocket on my backpack.
Hope you enjoyed this DIY. Tell me if you tried this project I would love to see it. Don't forget to follow me on the Hunt. The Hunt is a great app if you find something you want to buy but don't know where to get it or want to find it for cheaper. Comment your favorite DIY!
